Easier said once it’s done > Easier said than done.
Fact.
I ran into an old friend the other day at SXSW, and it just dawned on me that it’s been a year since my life-changing performance. There’s a documentary being made about me right now. It’s crazy to think, I basically broke the four-minute mile… what else am I capable of?
“If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew to serve your turn long after they are gone, and so hold on when there is nothing in you except the will which says to them ‘Hold on!’” -Rudyard Kipling, University of Texas Life Sciences Library
Dear Future Me,
Pursue greatness, not perfection. Mistakes will happen, and it’s okay when they do. Beating yourself up about them is a mistake in itself. Embrace mistakes and grow from the pain. As the saying goes, you don’t drown by falling in water - you drown by staying there.

One of the most inspirational movie speeches ever.
“Greed - for a lack of a better word - is good.”
To Whom It May Concern,
Whatever dreams of the future you have, here’s a reality check: Tomorrow is not the day you will make them happen. The future belongs to those who seize it today.
It’s not about resources, but resourcefulness. And the greatest resource we have is Desire. Desire for the life we imagine and how bad we want to create it. So bad that we’re willing to sacrifice everything else, and break through every physical or mental barrier to attain it.
Fear be the Greatness-killer, and Desire its opposite. Once Desire is ignited, the path becomes apparent, but even then, knowing the path and walking the path are not the same. Desire is the spark, and Dedication is the fuel that drives us down that path toward our dreams.
“Crazy” is a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated… Is it really so crazy that we know what we want?
